Student of the Day

Today when I woke Braylen up, she stretched, yawned and while rubbing her eyes said, "When I get to school, I better remember to practice being the Student of the Day because I want to do a good job today, and we don't do the months until after lunch, so I can practice them longer!" LOL!!! Can you tell being Student of the Day is a BIG thing in First Grade???? I taught first grade before becomming a mommy. It was a big deal then, still is now, 6 years later!!! LOVE IT!!!

First Day of First Grade

Today Braylen started First Grade! She was so excited to go back and see all of her friends and start the school year! When we were getting ready to leave from home, I wanted to get her picture. Alea said, "I go school too!" Not so fast, little one, you still have 3 more years with mama!! But, I let her be in the picture :)

Zoo Trip

Today we went to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo with Mamaw and Papaw. Brittany also joined us! We had a great day seeing all the animals, especially the new African exhibit area. The girls loved seeing the aligator and lion so close to the glass! It was a fun day!! Check out Braylen's face painting--isn't she an awesome tiger???

Fun at the Lake

Mamaw and Papaw rented a lake cottage this week and we took the girls up there for swimming, fishing and boating. We had a great time!! Growing up my Grandma had a lake cottage and we spent many summer days there. I have many childhood memories of swimming, tubing, boating and skiing on Lake Webster. It was fun to remember and even relive a bit of childhood at the lakes!! There's nothing like a sunset over the lake!!

This was the girls first time to fish. They had a great time! Braylen even caught a fish!! She was so proud :)
