Growing Girls

We have been busy swimming, swimming and swimming this week! It has been so hot and humid here in Indiana this week, our pool has been WONDERFUL!!! Braylen is a little fish, swimming this year without any floaties. Alea gets everywhere she wants to get in her life jacket. Braylen is so excited that she can touch the bottom of the pool this year.
On Monday, the girls both had physicals at the doctor. Braylen weighs 51 pounds and is 47 1/2 inches tall. She is in the 80th percentile on weight and 90th on height. The doctor says at this rate, she is going to be 6' - 6' 1" tall!!! WOW!!! Alea is still a little peanut. She almost weighs 24 pounds and she is 34 inches tall. She is "hugging" the 0 percentile on both this year instead of being a leap away. She did grow 4 inches and gain 5 pounds in a year though and for that the doctor was VERY pleased!! He said at the rate she is going, she will be 5 foot tall and 85 pounds! Just what we have always thought--her birthmother was a bit shorter than that and probably weighed about 80-85 pounds. Both are healthy, happy little girls that we couldn't be prouder of! Thank you Lord for blessing us with these :)
Braylen will have her final t-ball game on Friday, which we can all say "YIPPEE" on! It has seemed like a LONG season and she is burned out!! We will celebrate with a swim party after for her entire t-ball team. Should be lots of fun :)
Summer is going WAY too fast, but we are trying to enjoy every minute of it!

Busy Week

We have had a busy week! Alea is feeling better. She has been suffering from allergy induced asthma. Breathing treatments every 3 hours and cough medicine has helped us all get a full night's sleep the past 2 nights which has been incredible!! The girls are in VBS each night this week. They also started Day Camps at our church this week, which run every Tuesday morning all summer long. And, we went to a puppet show at the Honeywell Center yesterday! It's been a fun, but busy week!
Alea is wearing her new outfit from Grandma Nussbaum! She is waving and saying, "Hi, Grandma" in this picture!!

1-800-DADDY

When Alea came into my room this morning, I thought her eyes and face looked swollen. I couldn't quite figure it out. I picked her up and she felt warm to the touch. I found the thermometer and sure enough, 101.8!! She said she was hungry, but then didn't want anything. All she kept saying over and over was, "Daddy! Daddy!" Poor thing. So, we called 1-800-DADDY and she got to tell him she wasn't feeling well. She seems to be ok emotionally now, hopefully the fever will come down soon. We were planning a zoo trip today with all the 1st-3rd graders at church today, but it is raining and that is cancelled. Probably a good thing since we have sick one!!!

Bunny Girls

Today I took the girls to Story Hour at the Library. The theme for today was bunnies. They saw a puppet show about a bunny and a fox, listened to a story about bunnies and read the book Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton. The girls then made bunny ear headbands, got their faces painted to look like a bunny and did the Bunny hop! It was a fun morning. We then got groceries, quick trip home to put them away and surprised Daddy at work! We had a fun morning. Can't wait to do it again next Wednesday!

We Will Miss You Grandpa and Grandma!

Grandpa and Grandma Nussbaum left for Florida last week. They are moving there and the girls went to say one last goodbye before they left. Hopefully they will visit often!!!

A Garden Glimpse

Just a glimpse of what's blooming now!!

Sidewalk Chalk

Our girls love sidewalk chalk. Braylen bought Alea a case of 52 pieces of chalk for her birthday. This afternoon they were having fun with it all!!

A Surprise in the Mail

The other day Alea got a surprise in the mail from her cousins Austin, Aubreigh and Ethan. I think she liked it! Thank you for all the Dora fun filled things!!!

Eight Years

Eight years ago today, Brad and I were married! Though many things have changed through the years, one thing remains: we are each other's best friends and we love each other unconditionally. Thank you, Lord for bringing us together. Protect our marriage and help us grow closer to You as we grow closer to one another.

The Dora Party!!

Saturday we celebrated Alea's 3rd birthday with a Dora the Explorer party. The kids started the party off going on a treasure hunt. Swiper was present, trying to swipe clues, but the kids were much to smart for Swiper, he didn't end up with any! The treasure was the pinata where instead of using a bat, they pulled strings. We then had a Mexican fiesta, gifts and cake. Thank you to everyone for making this day so special for Alea! A special thank you to Swiper!!!!

Alea really did like the cake--she was exhausted by this time. She had been too excited to take a nap. She did really well, but she was soooo tired by the end of the day!!!

Happy Birthday, Alea! We love you so much!!!
