Bowling and Angels

Last evening we invited Mamaw and Papaw to go to Crazy Pinz with us. The girls had a blast bowling! They have cool frames for kids to use when bowling along with the gutter bumpers. Braylen used the frame part of the time and bowled regular the other part. Alea would clap and say "Yeah!" after each time she pushed the ball. Papaw won the game, with Daddy coming in second and then Mommy. Bray and Alea finished fourth and fifth and well, you can see who came in last! It was an off night for Mamaw!! Maybe next time we'll let mamaw use the frame and gutter bumpers!!!
Yesterday at church, the kids got to dress up as angels. Braylen donned this attire around our home yesterday!! I told her she looked like an evil angel in this picture :)

Easter Sunday Dresses

The Story of Easter

Saturday evening we wanted to emphasize why the next day we were going to where our pretty Easter dresses and go to church and celebrate with family. It is because we are celebrating what our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ did for us. He died on the cross and rose again so that we may have life everlasting. Here is how we told the story to the girls....

Jesus came riding into town on a donkey. Can you make the trotting sound like a donkey?

When the people saw Jesus coming, they waved palm branches

Can you wave your hands like a palm branch?

The people shouted "Hosanna!!" which means Jesus save us now!

Later that night after a special meal with his disciples, Jesus and a few of his disciples went to the garden to pray.
But the disciples fell asleep. Can you go to sleep??
Later that night, the soldiers came and took Jesus. They were mean to him. They hit him and spit on him. It was a very sad night. Jesus died on the cross. He died so that all of us could go to Heaven with him someday if we trust and accept his great gift.
After Jesus died, they took his body down off the cross and they laid him in a tomb (we pretended the dough was the tomb and the marshmallow was Jesus).
Can you put Jesus in the tomb?
Then they rolled a great big stone in front of the tomb. Let's roll our tombs and put them on the baking sheet.
Mommy is going to put these in the oven and we will find out what happens after Jesus was in the tomb for 3 days. What do you think will happen???
On the third day, early in the morning, some ladies went to the tomb to put perfume on Jesus' body and when they got there, the stone was rolled away!!!

Can you roll your stone away? Unroll the bread.
Where is Jesus? He wasn't in there! There was an angel that told the ladies that Jesus was ALIVE!! He wasn't dead anymore! Where is you Jesus? He is gone!!!!
JESUS IS ALIVE!!! He is now back in Heaven!!!!

Bird Nests

Saturday night the girls and I made bird nests to take to Grandma's for a treat on Easter. We made rice krispy treats and shaped them into nests. Alea put 2 chocolate eggs in each and Braylen topped them with a bird shaped peep. They were festive, fun, and yummy!!!

Happy Birthday, Brad!!

Thursday was Brad's 38th birthday. The girls had balloons delivered to daddy at work and we had a celebration in the evening. We made his favorite dinner: swiss steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and cake. The girls gave him a Hershey kiss candy dish that sings each time you open it. They picked it out themselves :) Braylen got him a gift certificate to Red Lobster. Alea got him one for Longhorn Steakhouse and I got him one for Best Buy. We had a fun evening together. We love you daddy and honey!!!

Kindergarten Roundup

Yesterday Braylen went to Kindergarten Round up. She got her finger pricked for lead testing, her eyes and teeth checked along with learning how to properly wash her hands. She got stickers, suckers, balloons, tatoos and lots of coloring books. She had a good time and was relieved to see many of her preschool friends there! She needs to have a more thorough eye exam with our eye doctor. We have known since she was 3 that she would possibly need glasses around kindergarten time. She has a slight stigmatism in her left eye, so we will get it all checked out and if she gets glasses, she will be delighted! Her only disappointment in yesterday was that she didn't leave with glasses and braces! Oh my, does she have a rude awakening when these things eventually happen!!!

Alea

Just some snapshots of Alea. I took her to the doctor yesterday because her sleeping has been off and her mood very much off! She has been so cranky and irritated. She had a lot of wax build up in her ears, so they flushed them and found ear infections!! We started her on her meds yesterday and already today she is acting so much better! She only woke once in the night!!

Sisters Having Fun

The girls have been playing together a lot lately. Yesterday I found them both with kitchen towels in the back of their shirts playing super heroes!! Their favorite toy right now is the scooter!!
