Tonight we went to Family Fun Night at church. We enjoyed pizza and snacks with friends and then watched the Dads all compete in a My Dad's Better Than Your Dad competition. Brad competed in the Marshmallow stuff. Braylen was able to stuff 9 marshmallows in his mouth, but the competition got 10 in!! It was fun!!!

Catchin' Fireflies
I remember so well being a child and living for evening to arrive so I could catch lightening bugs and fill a canning jar. I would gather as many as I could and put them in my bedroom to light up my room all night long. I would be devestated in the morning when they were all dead. Well, we have a bug catcher full of lightening bugs in our house tonight. We'll see if they make it through the night! It was fun watching Braylen catch them! Oh to be a child again!!!

There's One Good Thing About All This Rain
Brad the Builder
Can you build just one more deck? Yes you can!!! Every year we say we are done building decks, but then another addition is made. Actually this was planned last summer, but Brad the Builder decided to wait until this year to finish it. It'll make the pool deck much roomier when finished. I'll post when it's done. It would help if the rain would finally go away!!!!!
I act like a 2 year old
Alea is most definately 2 years old, in every sense possible! She is happy one moment, MAD another. She knows what she wants and she wants it NOW!! She is learning and discovering new things everyday. She says new words and phrases everyday. She is a joy on somedays and a handful on others. I know I will have gray hair by the time she's 3!! I often say, "What am I going to do with you!!" I always immediately pick her up and hug and kiss her and say, "I'm gonna love ya up!!" Sometimes love has to be tough too, though!!!

Recipe
I've been asked for the recipe for the casserole Braylen made a few weeks ago. I really don't follow an exact recipe, but here is about what I put in it:
Smoked Sausage Casserole
1 package smoked sausage, sliced
16 oz bag frozen southern style hashbrowns
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Mix soups, sour cream, cheese, salt and pepper. Stir in hashbrowns and smoked sausage. Put ina 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour or until potatoes are tender.
I usually serve this with French bread and green beans or salad.

Swim Lessons
Braylen began taking swim lessons yesterday. She will take them all week. She had a lot of fun and loves her teacher, Miss Andrea!!! She is doing much better with putting her face in the water without plugging her nose (a bad habit her mommy taught her--I still plug mine!!!!!!!!!!!!) Her favorite part was jumping off the diving board and diving for sunken water rings!!!
